Hi Everyone! I hope to find all of you healthy and happy. Things are great here at HRQ. We are busily preparing for lots of up and coming events. It was really buzzing around here yesterday– John, my painter (the best painter ever), and his crew were here painting the classroom and it looks great. In another week or so, the flooring will be in; after that, a little more sprucing up, a few finishing touches and it will be perfect! I can't wait~I love making things pretty:) Our Quilt that is featured in the Quilt Sampler magazine is finally home hanging in our store, we are so happy to have it back. We all had a hand in designing and making the quilt and Beth Murray quilted it. Come on in and see it. The Quilt Sampler magazines came early~they showed up on Monday. JoAnn and I were jumping up and down with excitement. . .! I'm sure the FedEx guy thought we had lost it for sure this time! JoAnn got right on the phone and called all who had preordered and I am here to announce it to everyone else. . .THEY'RE HERE! Oooo. . .we just got a shipment from Lecien~I wonder what's in the box? I will open it when I get done here! Amongst all the excitement of the classroom remodel yesterday, the tree trimmers were here too with their noisy machines but they cleaned things up so nicely it really look good. And if that was still not enough excitement, my dear ol' Dad shows up with the new BEAUTIFUL shelving units he made for little ol' me. Actually, for the store, but I have two sisters so I'm going to tell them he made them for me (nanner nanner)~just kidding. The shelves look wonderful after we got the giant things in here. To end my day I took Mom and Dad home to my house where Tom (the hubby) had made a spaghetti dinner for all of us. Of course, Amanda and Brian (my daughter and her husband) showed up too. It was a good day. Now back to business, Quilt Sampler PARTY! don't forget September the 9th, that's a Wednesday. The party begins at 6:00pm and we'll carry on until 9:00pm. We are going to be raffling off a JUKI sewing machine valued at over $900.00. Everyone who comes (18 years or older) will get a ticket to go into the drawing. Additional tickets will be available to purchase beginning YARD SALE this Saturday, August 29th. Tickets will be available for purchase until 8:45pm the evening of the party. You must be present to win. All the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Butte County Humane Society, so help support the animals and buy some tickets and maybe you will go home with a new JUKI machine. We will have other give aways that night and come share some yummy treats and a piece of cake with us. I want to thank Scotty, from Sew Unbelievable, who gave me a great deal so I could bring you this wonderful sewing machine. I am excited to say that I am going to have a demo machine here in HRQ so you can test drive, before you buy. The HRQ staff and I all have Juki machines and love them. If you are interested, you will be able to order your Juki from HRQ, we will order it and have your machine here just days after you order! Please note, we will be CLOSED on September 9th during the day to get ready for the PARTY later that evening. . .see you there! As for the Yard Sale, we begin at 8:00am and the sale will end as the store closes at 5:00pm. As always, we'll hold the sale in front of the store on the lawn. Mark your calendars for this Saturday, August 29th! Honey Run is going to extend the 10% off our featured Quilt Kit that is in the Quilt Sampler magazine through the night of our PARTY. Oh, and the kit comes with a nice little gift too! We have new fabrics coming in daily, it's like Christmas everyday here. . .we girls can't wait to tear open those boxes! On to our class schedule. Most of our classes we have scheduled are up on our website now with pictures! I took a class which Debbie D'Ewart taught last weekend~Shining Sunflower. Oh my goodness, what fun! If you haven't taken this class you should really consider it. Debbie is a fun teacher and the class is great. She is also teaching a Beyond Stippling class and a No Mark Feathers class. These are free motion machine quilting classes made easy. Goldie has her regulars which are always a hit Friday Night Live, Work in Progress, and Stash Burner. Goldie is also teaching some fun Christmas quilts and table runner classes. Come and enjoy Kari's open sewing class~Quilt With Kari. Our Clothing Construction class fills fast, this class is quite a hit! I'm so happy to have Cathy Lynch on our schedule again she is so talented look for her classes on the schedule. I am starting a Applique Club it is a class without a teacher but there will be plenty of very talented ladies there to share their techniques. The class is FREE to all, so bring your favorite project and come join the fun. Cindy Needham is back with her always sold out fun filled Sew Days and also her Beginning Machine Quilting class. This class will get even the newest of quilters so excited and ready to begin quilting their own projects~a very, very informative class. Theresa has done it again and designed a beautiful Dresden Flower quilt she will be teaching, it is lovely. . .Phyllis Cullen is also becoming part of the fixtures here at HRQ everyone is enjoying her Art Quilt classes, it's really exciting to have her teaching here. Liz Swinney is going to teach a great Hexagon class that uses a fun new ruler, this is Liz's own pattern. . .talent everywhere! Dorrie Richer is going to teach a couple of beginner classes to get you new enthused quilters going, New Beginnings Piecing and Aqua Marine. Well now that I have gone on forever (maybe I need to write more often so my letters are not so long :). I'm going to get some work done here. I hope I did not leave anything or anyone out. Remember, we're always here to answer any of your questions, help with projects, in progress or new. . .and simply inspire you to sew, sew sew! Have a Beautiful Day......And Be Inspired!
